This page is devoted to information on Supernova 2000eo in MCG -2-9-3 Basic information on this SN, including the last reported brightness, on this Supernova can be found on the main page. Information on the original web pages for many of these images can be found on the Supernova links web page.
This supernova was originally discovered on a deep scan by
Nearby Galaxy Supernova Search (NGSS) at
magnitude 19.2. They did a spectrum, showing this SN to be
a supposedly a type II W-R star (1998S like). About 10 day later,
LOTOSS re-discovered this SN (independantly)
at an amazing Mag 15.3. Amazingly bright for such
a distant SN.
We have a DSS Photometry reference image made by Odd Trondal.
