Discovered by J. C. Wheeler et. el from
University of Texas (USA).  
A bright type Ic.  
This is a supernova that changed galaxies.  
In some catalogs
NGC 4960
(the originally reported host galaxy) is not the same object as
NGC 4961.  
We have a DSS Photometry reference image made by Odd Trondal.

This supernova is in the
Constellation Coma Berenices.
