This page is devoted to information on Supernova 2007sr in NGC 4038.   Basic information on this SN, including the last reported brightness, on this Supernova can be found on the main page.  Information on the original web pages for many of these images can be found on the updates and links web pages.

image Discovered by Catalina Sky Survey (USA).   This one turned out to be the brightest northern hemisphere visible supernova of the year 2007.   It was found in the Antenna galaxy which is an interacting par of galaxies.   This supernova was found in the southern "antenna", as opposed to 2004gt which was found it the northern section of main body of this complex.   This one is a type Ia found before maximum light.   We have a DSS Photometry reference image made by Odd Trondal.  Icon generated from the discovery image.   This supernova is in the Constellation Corvus.
